An old popular tradition says that whoever drinks water from the Canaletes fountain must return, at least once, to visit Barcelona. Whether it is true or not, it is unquestionable that the mecca of the city for both the people of Barcelona and visitors alike is La Rambla. Without realising it, the walker walks down La Rambla over and over again.
