Batllo Chair Gaudi Original Reproduction

The Batllo chair is an exact reproduction of the chair that the brilliant architect Antoni Gaudi designed for the Batllo House in Barcelona in 1906 to match the dining-room table. Nowadays it can be found in Gaudí Museum, inside Park Güell, in Barcelona.

Solid Varnished Oak Chair designed for Batllo House. Because of its shapes, adapts to the position of the body. The aestheticism of this chair, based on the simplicity, elude the right lines.

This Chair was originally designed by Gaudí to be placed in the dinning room of Batlló Modernist House.  It was one of the first signs of ergonomical furniture.  The circular voids situated on each side of the back which could make us think of a light decoration, are some functional cut-backs pretending to help to move the chair in case it is necessary. The backrest follows the contour of the seat to balance the symmetry of the structure.
